want to learn how to do this? learn how using paint shop pro 8! (this may also work for other versions, i'm not sure!)
whereever it says "this" or "these", it's most likely a link to a picture to help you visualize:)

1. First, open your program and when that is loaded, go to File>>New, make your settings match this, and press ok.
2. Open another blank file (File>>New) and use these settings
3. Choose a pattern for your backround, I will be using dots. On your smallest blank document (the one you just made), fill it with a solid color, like this, using the paintbrush tool, , change your settings to match these, add two dots to your backround, like this (zoomed version), using the crop tool, , crop the excess purple around the dots, it'll look something like this when it's done!
4. Go to your materials palette, which is this. Once you have clicked where it says "click here", a window that looks like this will pop up. Follow the numbers on where to click, then press ok. Your pattern should show up where your purple box was before. If not, just click this (under your purple box), then find this button, .
5. Using your paintbrush tool again, , fill in the very first document created with the dotted background.
6. Go to Layers>>New Raster Layer, a window will pop up, please change the settings to these if they are not already!
7.This is the brush you will be using to create your vectors. You have to convert this into an image. First, click the link and right click and go to copy. Go to your program and go to Edit>>Paste as New Image. You might have to resize the image, simply go to Image>>Resize and you can use these settings. Go to Selections>>Select All. Go to your paintbrush tool, , and find this button, follow the directions on the image. A window will then pop up, that looks like this, rename your brush and then go back to this button and click the arrow to find your vector brush. When you have found it, click it then press okay.
8. Go to your dotted backround and place your brush ontop using a different color, I usually use white or a grey. Once you have your vector ontop of your purple background, then press, CtrlC, CtrlV, this should give you just your vector! Keep this, you'll need it for later!
9. Go to File>>New again and check to see if your settings match these still, then press okay.
10. Using the same color as you did before, chose another pattern to use such as sparkles, hearts, stars, anything! Just repeat what you did before for the dots, except this time you don't have to crop the purple unless there is a lot of excess!
11. Once you have chosen another pattern and you have gone through all the steps, carefully fill in the DOTTED vectors! I suggest changing the size of your brush to 11 and using the round brush:) It should look something like this. I just filled in a few random vectors to show you that it'll look a little messy, but that's what you saved your other vector for! Continue until all of your vectors are a following a pattern, or you can leave them all the same!

YOU'RE ALMOST DONE! I PROMISE! THIS TAKES PRACTICE!

12. Create yet another blank file with these settings. Go to the vector that is by itself and go to Edit>>Paste as Selection. As you did before, go through steps 10-11 using a different color. You can use one pattern per color. You might end up with something a little like this
13. If you would like to add a white border to your vector, go to Selections>>Modify>>Expand. Change your pixels to 1 and press ok.
14. Go to Edit>>Copy then go to your really messy purple vector and then go to Edit>>Paste as Selection, line your vector up and voila! You're done! Give your self a big pat on the back:) That was a lot. I know, but your result will be amazing! The more you do these the better you'll get, experiment with new patterns and colors and you'll be fine!
This is somewhat what your result will look like!
